Q. What are the lunch time arrangements for year 7?

A. Year 7 is the only year group on lunch between 12.30pm and 1.00pm. This ensures minimal queuing time and allows them to eat and make new friends in their first year at the academy.

Q. How do you pay for lunch?

A. The academy operates a pay online system, where an account will be set up for each student. Parents can then use the online account to add money or students may use the biometric (fingerprint) system to add money in the academy. Students on free school meals will have their money automatically added to their account for use at lunch time. Log on details will be provided to parents in due course. All students are welcome to bring a packed lunch on days they choose.

Q. How is the uniform provided?

A. A full uniform will be provided, free of charge, for all year 7 students. Trutex (our uniform supplier) normally attends each primary school to measure the year 6 students during June/July but this year we have asked parents to order uniform on line via special links for boys/girls. Trutex will then deliver the uniform packs to the academy. The proposed dates for collection are to be confirmed and we will contact you again when we know the collection date with arrangements for the day as we will need to ensure that we practice social distancing and appropriate safeguarding for yourselves and staff.

Should you discover that the uniform you have ordered does not fit, there will be a return and exchange day held at the school. Again, once we know this date we will let you know and it will be necessary to manage this day carefully to protect everyone.

Please be aware that this process will only be for the order of your free uniform bundle and additional uniform that you wish to buy will need to be purchased from Trutex online or a local stockist as usual. There will be uniform ordering / collection days at Outwood Academy Brumby later in the year. (Dates to be arranged and advertised on the academy website).

Q. What are the rules for hair/ makeup/ jewellery?

A. Make up worn by older students should be very discreet. Students will be asked to remove make up if it is not discreet. Hairstyle should be sensible and colours should be natural. Students will not be allowed in to lessons with unnatural hair colour. Hair accessories should be discreet and in black or purple. No scarves or bandanna’s ( unless for religious or medical reasons). No Jewellery is allowed except for a watch and medic alert bracelet or necklace. No body piercings including ear, nose and belly button etc, will be allowed. (Please arrange for any piercings to be done at the beginning of the summer break so they may then be removed in September.) No nail polish or false nails are allowed.
