to Outwood Academy Brumby
I am extremely delighted with our examination results this year.
61% of our students achieved 5+ A*-C including English and
Maths, a massive increase of 28% from last year.
A*-C English and Maths results are phenomenal - 74% in English
(36% increase from last year) and 68% in Maths (20% increase
from last year). This has given the students real life chances
and I am so pleased for everyone concerned; students, staff,
governors, parents and the Local Authority who have supported us
this year. However we are not complacent and will strive to
continue to improve on our journey to be outstanding.
Selecting your child’s secondary school is one of the most
important decisions any parent can make. We are working very
hard to make our classroom learning environments full of
discussion, investigation and discovery, where students take
responsibility for their own and each others’ learning,
encouraging all to make progress.
Every child has a right to a first class education and no
student has the right to disrupt the learning of others. I am
proud of the learning environment we are creating which ensures
that lessons are free from disruption and enables children to
learn. We view each person as an individual and the education
students receive here at Brumby is highly personalised, changing
throughout the year to better suit their needs. We involve
students and parents in every step of this process and will
report to you, six times per year, on the progress your child is
As Principal, I feel very privileged to lead Outwood Academy
Brumby and promise that every action we take will always adhere
to our philosophy of ‘Students First’.
