Key Stage 3

The ICT course at Key Stage 3 provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access the OCR National Certificate course in Key Stage 4. In year 7 students develop an understanding of advanced tools in everyday use applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite. They also learn all about e-safety and how they can stay safe online. In the last term students are introduced to programming through the BBC Microbit. This leads into year 8 where students learn about the theory side of computing – how they work, are connected and the purpose of hardware.
